Love is a word with different ethos in different contexts and hence much misused and misunderstood. The most trivial love is our love for worldly objects and individuals. Such love could be for a vehicle, a pet, a house, wealth, relations, parents, children and near and dear ones. This love is the most basic outward emotional bonding born out of worldly attachments, a part of the family or social conditioning. Another love is the attachment between individuals of the opposite sex born out of wedlock or companionship. This is also one related to the material mind. Another aspect associated with the opposite sex is the act of “Making love”, which means sex! This is also a mere temporary physical act. Another type of love is platonic love, which is more of spiritual bonding. Very few talk of love in the platonic sense, but that too is the glorification of the non-physical aspect.
The real love is the overflowing joy of the ego-less being! No love can exist as long as one remains identified and attached to the material body and mind. Just as brightness cannot coexist with darkness, so do pure love not coexist with ego.
To experience pure (spiritual) love, one needs to reign in the subtlest ego, a primary requirement to understand and experience love. A real spiritual master is egoless. Love comes out from such a person like water flowing out of a fountain! It is unconditional and for all.
